Respect Your Elders, a personal fundraiser

The pandemic was personal for many, if not most, people. In 2021, some of the oldest restaurants and businesses in San Francisco’s Chinatown were on the verge of closing, devastated by the pandemic’s impact on tourism. This was happening against the backdrop of increasing anti-Asian racism. Moved to action, I organized a fundraiser, in which I designed and sold stickers and tote bags, celebrating the oldest establishments in Chinatown.

In total, I raised $1,548 and donated all the proceeds to Chinatown Community Development Center, a nonprofit supporting small businesses in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

Below are the product photos I shot to drive awareness of the fundraiser.

Brand photos for Muro

I’m passionate about supporting small businesses, especially ones that elevate Asian and Asian-American artists and artisans. In 2024, my good friends launched Muro, an online retail brand selling tote bags designed by artisans from Bangaldesh’s indigenous community. I had the privilege of taking product photos. Inspired by Bangladesh’s lush landscapes, I captured the vibrant patterns and textures of Muro bags set in the natural beauty of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
